  • Paul Austin - Vice President

I work as the purchasing/receiving manager for a broad line food service company that distributes to local restaurants, healthcare providers, clubs, etc. I spent nearly the first 30 years in sales, and the last 3.5 years as the purchasing/receiving manager. I was an active member of Valley Hope Community Church for 12 years, and a member of their leadership team the entire time. I helped lead the youth group, and our men’s accountability group while with VHCC. I lead a family small group for VHCC for a couple of years. I helped organize and was involved with our Acts of Kindness by serving the elderly, widowed, and single moms in our community. Prior to that I helped come up with a vision of the kind of church God had called VHCC to become. How we would approach the Bible, what foundation and principles we would hold, and how we would approach the communities we served. I came alongside the youth pastor from Albany, OR First Assembly of God Church, and served on his committee for a program called, “Next”, where we looked to help meet the needs of young, unchurched individuals. Encouraging them and getting them plugged in to church, either ours or another local Bible based church. Years prior I worked with an ecumenical group of churches and their youth where we founded a group called H.O.L.Y. (housing organized by local youth). This group specifically focused on ways to improve communication between churches and youth struggling to find their way in the world with a hands-on approach to feeding, clothing, and caring for the needs of people of all ages.
